[navn fjernet] 3e - 2 Who was Jack the Ripper? Though he lived over a 100 years ago, we still do not know just who he, or was it a she, was. There is not an adult person in the world who has not heard of Jack the Ripper, as it is human nature to be fascinated by the morbid and macabre, and he is the world’s first serial killer. Yet another thing that fascinates us is the mystery that surrounds the name and title of ‘Jack the Ripper’. There are several theories, going from the logical to the downright strange, about whom and what he was, yet we do not know. Not for lack of trying, but the mystery that is Jack the Ripper is one of those things humanity just is not meant, or ready, to know. The Victorian period, was a period where most modern day women would not survive, the whole women are less worth than men would kill most women of today’s world. When talking about the Victorian-period you cannot evade talking about the double morale that is constantly used in the timeframe. Sexuality was frowned upon, yet many prostitutes walked the shadowy streets of the London night. Five of these women fell prey to the mysterious and infamous killer known only as Jack the Ripper, and his ‘works’ are still some of the most discussed, and famous, murders in the history of mankind.

Det mørke, makabre og morbide ser man i de mishandlede ofre han efterlod sig, og det mystiske ligger i at man ikke aner hvem han var.
